My Europe Getaway
on amy_eve's travel map.
Here I am in Brussels the capital of Belgium.
Travelled here on the Eurostar with my cousin Holly and we are lucky enough to be staying with our great aunt Berteke and uncle Pieter in Halle, Brussels.
They are looking after us fantastically well Berteke is!!! My old uncle is a dirty old man he always wants lots of kisses!
This was in the rose garden (the largest rose garden in Europe) beside the castle Coloma
On our first day here, Sunday (27/05), we met both my mum's cousins-Luke & Michel and their 5 children- Mina, Sacha and Zachery, Quentin and Charlotte. It was a great day and i was VERY EXCITED to find that they eat desert with little spoons!!! So now we know were it comes from.
The kids are great. Despite the difficulties with them only speaking Flemish (and French) and me speaking near on no Dutch excepting the swear words Ive picked up from mum yelling at us ;-) we managed to get on fine.
Had a great time at the "Kermis" eating "Oliebollen"
Today we went into Brussels centre and saw the upper and lower ends of Brussels. Lots of magnificent old buildings and sights to see. Ofcourse Belgium is known worldwide for its amazing pralines, beer, chocolate chaud, mussels and waffles. So we checked out the food and bought a rather large box of disgustingly wonderful chocies to bring home and we're still stuffing our faces this evening.
And ofcourse among the great sights and tastes of Brussels we had to find the most famous water fountain- The Manneke Pis...
Can you believe there is also a Jeanneke Pis
So- Iain I found him- I believe you!!!
